Director – Information Technology Infrastructure Engineering

Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing the global infrastructure. This position requires both the ability to develop strategies, design solutions, developing standards, executing to the strategy, and supporting the infrastructure. This position will be the lead infrastructure engineer. The infrastructure would include, but not limited, to all data center standards, server architecture, wide area network, local area network, client based hardware/software, monitoring tools, etc. Ensuring quality processes and programs are being utilized and are effective by developing performance measurements and communicating performance relative to standards. Ensure optimal efficiency by monitoring work quality; delivering reports, statistics and recommendations for improvement.
- Provides and conducts analysis of capacity planning to support business operations. Development of both the operating expense and capital budget for both ongoing support and business driven projects
- Design and maintain a global wide area network that consists of over 8 sites with appropriate service levels in quality, cost and performance.
- Responsible for selection of technology needed to support both the business and the business application software.
- Identifies, researches, and resolves problems within the infrastructure, directing a small staff and vendors.
- Proactively, but grounded on business needs, develop strategies that support both short and long term needs of the business.
- Analytical capability to develop recommendations based on data.
- Track problems and requests from the business and periodically report status of each.
- Develop best practice policy and procedures.
- Design and implement ongoing security standards that allow for both the business to operate seamlessly and secure all information assets.
- Hands on support of the infrastructure. Oversee and engage in the day to day operation
Qualifications:
Requires BS in computer sciences and 2-5 years of management level responsibility.
