ENGINEERS--MULTIPLE POSITIONS--MECHANICAL, CIVIL, ELECTRICAL, AND I&C

Job Description:

Top engineering corporation is seeking qualified and proactive engineers in mechanical, civil, electrical and I&C disciplines to support global projects. The company has very strong SmartPlant initiative and any experience with the software is a plus.

Mechanical:

1. Use knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Material Science to design and analyze fossil fuel power plant systems
2. Develop plant heat balances to determine overall process and equipment requirements
3. Perform calculations to determine size and quantity of mechanical equipment that will be required for plant operation such as steam turbines, boilers, pumps, condensers, piping, valving, etc.
4. Prepare and review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
5. Collaborate with other disciplines to determine equipment arrangements and layout

Civil/Structural:

1. Perform work which requires a broad knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering principles and practices, which involves complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standards, materials or difficult coordination requirements
2. Prepare sketches and review project drawings prepared by using AutoCAD, Microstation and/or Smartsketch
3. Prepare project calculations for the design and analysis of foundations for super structures and equipment
4. Duties may involve frequent in house contacts and direct outside contacts as well

Electrical:

1. Evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
2. Plan, design, develop, coordinate and review complex electrical engineering work, including electrical power systems and/or control design within large power generation plant and high voltage switchyard
3. Create and/or check one-line drawings, three line drawings and other protection and control schematic and wiring drawings

I&C:

1. Determine and implement the requirements for controlling and monitoring the process
2. Prepare and review P&IDs, Control System Block Diagram, Logics and Functionals, Logic Narratives, Graphic Displays in the Control RM
3. Develop specifications for Control System Spec (DCS), Instrument spec, control valve spec, monitoring system specDevelop installation details, instrument location plans, loop diagrams and instrument list
