Job Description:

Solid mid-size pharmaceutical company seeks an energetic professional to cover a wide range of IP responsibilities; located 45 minutes from Boston MA.

Responsibilities include, (but are not limited to):

• Due diligence, licensing, and related transaction support
• Manage assigned portion of patent portfolio including some limited patent drafting and prosecution
• Supervise outside counsel with regard to drafting, filing, prosecution, and maintenance
• Communicate regularly with scientists and researchers regarding on-going scientific work and inventions
• Educate clients on relating patent matters
• Coordinating with Legal Affairs-IP on overall strategy and portfolio management
• Participate in patent due diligence reviews or business development activities as requested by Chief IP Counsel
• Review and negotiate day-to-day R&D contracts

Requirements:
JD, and admission to practice before USPTO and at least one State Bar. Must have 4-6 years experience with drafting and prosecution of U.S. patent applications in life sciences, and be proficient in performing computer-based structure, patent, and literature searches. Some experience with IP transactional matters, including licensing and due diligence. Preferably, some litigation experience and a basic understating of the Hatch-Waxman Act.
