Job Description:

 

One of the world’s largest engineering and project delivery firms, servicing the global resource, energy and infrastructure markets is currently seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer. The global engineering giant provides engineering, procurement, construction management, program management and consultancy services to clients in the Hydrocarbons, Power, Minerals and Metals and Infrastructure sectors.  We are one of a handful of global companies with the capability and track record to execute large capital projects from conception right through to operation. 

Responsibilities include:  Work in a project team environment to execute engineering and construction projects. Establish processes and equipment to satisfy client requirements.  Specify equipment to achieve minimal cost as well as limit field problems and change orders.  Work with designers to establish proper equipment arrangements and piping layouts.  Formulate P&I Diagrams as required to describe the processes.  Understand the input and output of project data in the ENCOMPASS system.  Interface with all other disciplines and coordinate with client personnel, project management, procurement, construction management, etc.  Write start-up procedures and participate in start-up, commissioning, and training of plant operations at the field site.  Take active responsibility for schedules and budgets.  Participate in training and Lunch & Learn seminars.  Observe and follow site safety and quality guides.     

 

 

Requirements:

BSME or MSME plus 15-25 years experience in the power industry in either plant operations or consulting engineering environments.  PE registration required.  Fluency in Microsoft Access or other database software desirable.  Exposure to Intergraph Microstation or other CAD environment desirable Also would be a plus if candidate had relationships or past experience with Rocky Mountain power clients. Previous supervisory skills of engineering and design teams.

Supervise other mechanical engineers and coordinate staffing assignments.  Review and approve work produced.  Make staffing assignments.  Determine budgets and staffing needs.  Would prefer this engineer have previous experience with air quality projects for large coal fired power plants.
